Golborne Community Primary School has its own school based Nursery provision. Our provision is specifically designed to cater for the learning and physical needs of children aged 3 to 4 years. Our staff consists of a full time experienced Nursery Teacher, Mrs Brazier, a full time experienced Teaching Assistant and a Lunchtime Supervisor. Nursery and Reception classes work closely together and form the school’s Early Years Foundation Stage.  During our last OFSTED inspection of June 2013 it stated that “Good teaching and an engaging curriculum in the Early Years Foundation Stage provide children well for the next stage in their education.”

Learning is planned and play based. We have a spacious and attractive indoor and outdoor area which the children use on a daily basis. Children enjoy practical 'hands on' activities based on specific topics designed to aid the development of young minds and children’s physical coordination skills. Children are taught in small focused groups so that their individual learning needs can be met. We pride ourselves on our good communication with parents and hold regular meetings to keep parents up to date with their child’s progress. Each child has a Key Person who will share with you your child's progress.

Our Nursery intakes are in September, January and April each year, and your child can start from the term after their third birthday. Children are entitled to a fifteen hour free provision each week, which can be arranged by mornings, afternoons or full days to meet your needs if places are available.

If you require additional childcare over the fifteen hour provision, these will cost £11.79 per session for mornings or an afternoon.

If you are interested in a place for your child at our Nursery, please contact us on 01942 726059 to arrange a visit with Mrs Brazier.

Thank you for your interest in our school nursery,

Mr Hunt
